Step:

  1. Using the double boiler method or microwave, melt the dark chocolate well

  2. Preheat the oven and grease a Square baking tin/ dish

  3. While the chocolate is still hot, add the melted butter and vanilla to it and whisk well to combine

  4. In another bowl, sieve together the flour, baking powder, cocoa powder and sugar

  5. Mix well and add the melted dark chocolate

  6. Fold in well after adding just enough milk to create a thick batter

  7. Add the mixture to the baking tin and tap the bottom gently to even out the mixture in the tin(you do not have to use a spatula to even the surface)

  8. Bake till done at 180 degrees celcius roughly for 30-40 minutes

  9. Check by inserting a toothpick if the brownie is ready

  10. Let cool and demould

  11. Cut into cubes and store airtight

  12. Tip: use a good quality dark chocolate, and if possible a flavoured one to create an amazing taste.

Ingredients

  1. 250 grams self raising flour (best option) / plain flour
  2. 200 grams fine sugar
  3. 100 grams unsweetened cocoa powder
  4. 150 grams dark chocolate (flavoured works wonders)
  5. 1.5 tablespoon baking powder
  6. 75-80 ml milk
  7. 1 tablespoon vanilla Essence
  8. 100 grams unsalted melted butter
  9. As needed Some oil / melted butter for greasing
