Step:
For filling- In a thick bottom pan Add grated khoya and roast till light golden in colour. Add coconut and nuts and roast further for a few min.
Add sugar and mix well when still warm.
For Dough- whisk together All purpose flour, semilina, sugar and baking soda.
Add ghee and rub with hands until mixed evenly. Add water gradually and as required to make a medium soft dough.
Divide the dough in small balls, roll them thin and fill with prepared mix. Shape them as gujhiya with the help of a mould or by hands. Prepare until the dough is finished.
Lay them in the baking tray, and brush them all evenly with milk. Sprinkle sliced almonds in them
Bake for approx 15 min in a pre heated oven at 180 degree Celsius. Or until golden brown.
Take them out on a wire rack and brush with a freshly prepared saffron sugar syrup for shiny glaze effect.
U can serve them when still warm and also store for later.
Ingredients
For Dough-
2 cup All purpose flour
1.5 tbsp semolina
1.5 tbsp sugar
1 pinch baking soda
4 tbsp ghee
1/3 cup water
1/4 tbsp saffron soaked in 1 tbs milk
For filling-
300 gm khoya
3 tbsp coconut powder
2 tbsp finely chopped almonds
2 tbsp finely chopped pistachios
1/3 cup sugar
4-5 tbsp milk
Almond flakes for decoration
For Sugar glaze-
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
Saffron (optional)
