Step:

  1. Marinate chicken with all ingredients mentioned under Marination section for 30 minutes to 1 hour

  2. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan. Roast whole spices, sesame, poppy seeds and dry red chilli for few seconds

  3. Add coconut, onions, little salt and roast until golden brown

  4. Allow to cool completely. Grind the mixture with chopped tomatoes and adequate water to form smooth Puree

  5. Heat 3 tbsp oil in a pan. add curry leaves and saute for few seconds. Add ground puree. Cook for 4-5 minutes until oil seperates

  6. Add chicken, salt and water. Mix well. Bring to boil

  7. Cover and Simmer until chicken is cooked stirring occasionally

  8. Add coriander leaves and mix well. Garnish with fresh chopped coriander leaves. Serve hot with rice, bhakri or chapatis

  1. 1 whole Chicken cut into 10-12 pieces
  2. 15-17 Curry Leaves
  3. 3 tbsp oil
  4. to taste Salt
  5. 1/2 cup chopped coriander leaves
  6. Water as required
  7. For Marination
  8. 2 tbsp Chilli powder
  9. 1 teaspoon turmeric
  10. 1.5 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  11. to taste Salt
  12. 2 tbsp Lemon juice
  13. 1.5 tbsp Coriander powder
  14. 1.5 teaspoon garam masala
  15. For Kolhapuri masala
  16. 2 teaspoon fennel seeds
  17. 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  18. 3-4 green cardamom
  19. 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  20. 1/2 cup grated coconut
  21. 2 black cardamom
  22. 2 mace
  23. 1 star anise
  24. 2 teaspoon peppercorns
  25. 4-5 cloves
  26. 2 tbsp oil
  27. 1 inch cinnamon stick
  28. 5-6 dry red chilli
  29. 2 teaspoon poppy seeds
  30. 1/2 kg onions
  31. 3-4 medium tomatoes chopped
