Step:

  1. Slice bacon into 1/2-inch strips.

  2. Saute bacon, onion, and garlic for 5 minutes,stirring occasionally.

  3. Drain beans. Combine beans, onion mixture and remaining ingredients ina 1-quart casserole.

  4. Bake, covered, at 350°F for 30 minutes.

  5. Uncover. Bake 30 minutes longer.

  6. Serve beans with barbecued meat or chicken

  7. MICROWAVE INSTRUCTIONS: Slice bacon into 1/2-inch strips. Combine bacon, onion and garlic in a 1-quart microsafe dish. Microave at HIGH power for 4 minutes or until onion is soft.

  8. Drain beans. Add beans and remaining ingredients t onion mixture. Microwave covered with waxed paper, at HIGH power for 6 minutes, stirring once or twice during cooking time.

  9. SLOW COOKER INSTRUCTIONS: Follow directions for baking, but instead of baking in oven, put in slow cooker and let cook slowly for several hours.

  1. 4 slice bacon
  2. 1 cup onion, chopped
  3. 1 clove garlic, minced or pressed
  4. 2 can (15 oz. each) pinto beans
  5. 1/2 cup water
  6. 1/4 cup ketchup
  7. 1/4 cup molasses
  8. 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  9. 1/2 tsp powdered ginger
  10. 1/2 tsp salt
  11. 1/4 tsp pepper
