Step:

  1. In a pan, add oil and ghee and heat on medium heat. To it, add cumin seeds and when the seeds crackle, add asafoetida, garlic, green chillies and ginger paste. Cook it for 2 minutes, stirring it.

  2. Add the tomato puree, tumeric powder, coriander powder, Kashmiri red chilli powder and fenugreek leaves, cook till the oil starts leaving the sides of the pan. Add water to it and bring it to boil. Then add yogurt to it and keep stirring so that the yogurt doesn't curdle. Cook it for 3 - 4 minutes, then add the roasted papad to it and let it simmer for 2 minutes. Take the pan off from the heat and serve immediately.

  1. 4 popadums (roasted), cut into pieces
  2. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  3. 1 pinch asafoetida
  4. 2 tbsps oil
  5. 2 tbsps ghee
  6. 1 tsp tumeric powder
  7. 1 tsp coriander powder
  8. 1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
  9. 1/4 cup tomato puree
  10. 250 gms yogurt
  11. 300 ml water
  12. 2 tbsps fresh fenugreek leaves, finely chopped
  13. 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  14. 1 green chilli, finely chopped
  15. 1/2 tsp ginger paste
