Step:
First of all Clean, wash and soak the yellow moong dal in enough water in a bowl for 4 hours. Drain well and blend in a mixer to a smooth paste without using water.
Heat the ghee in a pan, add the dal paste mix well and cook on a medium flame for 15 minutes or till is turns brown in colour, while stirring continuously.
Now add mava (khoya) mix well and cook for a 2 minutes. Transfer the mixture into a bowl and keep aside.
For sugar syrup :Combine the 1 cup of water and sugar in a deep non-stick pan, mix well and cook on a high flame till it gets a one string consistency, while stirring occasionally.
Add the sugar syrup to the moong dal mixture and cook it further for a few minutes. Add the cardamom powder and almonds mix well.
Now moong dal halwa is ready to serve.

200 grams yellow moong dal(split skinless green gram)
200 grams mava (khoya)
200 gms ghee
200 grams sugar
1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
15 chopped almonds
1 cup water for sugar syrup
