Step:

  1. Whisk the egg well in a large bowl

  2. Once done, all the ingredients into the bowl, except saffron

  3. Whisk well once again while you set a non stick pan/ a deep heavy bottom saucepan to heat

  4. Once all the ingredients are well combined, add the mix into the saucepan

  5. Keep mixing constantly on medium heat initially

  6. Add the saffron and powdered nuts (if using) at this stage

  7. As the porridge gets thicker, reduce heat and keep cooking to desired consistency on Low heat

  8. Take off heat once a scrambled egg kinda consistency is reached

  9. Discard the cardamom piece and transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with sliced nuts

  10. Tip:Infants/babies can have this porridge a little liquidy after cooking completely, while toddlers can have it slightly thicker and warm

  11. Tip: this porridge is an excellent way to introduce solid food to babies along with purees.

  12. Tip: for more than 1 kid, increase the amount of eggs, milk and sugar

  13. Tip: add nuts only if you are certain your baby is not allergic to any


Ingredients

  1. 1 large egg
  2. 1 tablespoon clarified butter/ghee/unsalted normal butter
  3. 1 piece whole green cardamom slightly crushed
  4. 150 millilitres of plain milk
  5. 2 tablespoon granulated sugar/maple syrup
  6. 1 pinch saffron strands(optional, not necessary)
  7. 1 tablespoon mixed sliced nuts/ powdered nuts
