Step:

  1. Soak these black chickpeas overnight and boil using salt the next day. It is better to soak them overnight for best results.

  2. Heat oil and saute ginger garlic paste first followed by onion. Add chilli powder and coriander powder. Mix well and cook for a minute. Take it off the heat and stir in the other ingredients.

  3. Sprinkle garam masala and squeeze some lemon juice. Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot at Iftaar time. Relish this yummy and spicy Chola as called in Bengali which means kala chana (masala) when translated. Enjoy!

  1. 2 cups soaked and boiled black chickpeas or kala chana
  2. 1 tsp salt
  3. 1 tsp ginger garlic mince
  4. 1 tsp chaat masala
  5. 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  6. 1 onion finely chopped
  7. 1 tomato finely chopped
  8. 3 green chillies finely chopped
  9. 2 cucumbers finely chopped
  10. 1/2 tsp garam masala
  11. 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  12. 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves
  13. 1 tbsp lemon juice
