Step:

  1. In a saucepan melt butter and whisk in flour to make a roux, cook on medium low for 2 min stirring frequently.

  2. Add heavy cream and whisk untill the cream starts to simmer. Remove from heat and add cheese stir untill smooth, add salt and pepper to taste.

  3. Toast bread and place in a baking dish. Top each with 7 oz of turkey, add slices of tomato and cover with the sauce. Sprinkle with more cheddar and place under the broiler untill cheese is brown and bubbly.

  4. Cover with crispy bacon pieces and sprinkle with paprika and parsley or green onion, Serve hot.

  5. The original recipe calls for Gruyere cheese, because this is not easy to find in my area i used shredded cheddar. I plan on using parmesan or a white cheddar next time i make it.


Ingredients

  1. 2 oz whole butter
  2. 2 oz all purpose flour
  3. 12 oz heavy cream
  4. 1/4 cup finely shredded cheddar (1/4 cup more for sprinkling)
  5. 14 oz sliced turkey breast
  6. 6-8 slices bacon
  7. 2 slices bread
  8. 4 slices tomato
  9. to taste Paprika salt and pepper
