Step:

  1. Melt shortening

  2. Add molasses sugar egg yolks

  3. Mix soda with water

  4. Sift dry ingredients

  5. Add soda mixture

  6. Mix alternately with milk

  7. Fold in egg whites

  8. Put in muffin pan bake at 425 for 20 to 30 minutes.

  9. 1 teaspoons water
  10. 1 cups buttermilk
  11. 2 egg whites stiffly beaten
