Step:

  1. Cream butter. Gradually add sugar. Beat well.

  2. Add egg yolk and vanilla. Blend.

  3. Add flour and salt. Blend to moisten flour.

  4. Spread in a rectangle about 10 x 15 inches on a greased cookie sheet.

  5. Bake at 350°F about 20 minutes.

  6. While slightly warm, spread with melted chocolate.

  7. Sprinkle with chopped nuts.

  8. Cut into small squares.

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup butter
  2. 1 cup brown sugar
  3. 1 egg yolk
  4. 1 tsp vanilla (I add a little extra)
  5. 2 cup all purpose flour
  6. 1/4 tsp salt
  7. 1/2 lb sweet chocolate
  8. 1/2 cup chopped nuts (I use fine ground walnuts)
