Step:

  1. Wash the peppermint well, pat dry.

  2. Use low heat to dissolve sugar in the water. Stir continuously.

  3. Remove the leaves of the mint, crush them by hand.

  4. Add to the pan. Stir from time to time. Add salt.

  5. When the sugar has dissolved, increase the heat until it boils.

  6. Lower to heat, let simmer for ten minutes or so. Add coloring if you wish.

  7. Let it cool. Strain into sterilized bottles or containers.

  1. 2 1/2 cup water (about 625 ml)
  2. 2 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  3. 250 gr peppermint
  4. 1 pinch salt
  5. 1-2 drops green coloring (optional)
