Step:

  1. Heat a skillet over medium high heat with the oil

  2. Season pork on both sides with McCormick spice and sear meat until golden brown

  3. Transfer meat to the crockpot

  4. Sprinkle onions evenly over meat, then spread applesauce and BBQ sauce to cover meat completely.

  5. Cook on high for 4-6 hours

  6. Shred meat with forks right in the crockpot and stir to incorporate the sauce. Taste. Add seasoning or more BBQ sauce if desired.

  7. Serve on buns for a sandwich, over rice or potatoes, or eat as is with your favorite sides.

Ingredients

  1. 3-4 pounds boneless, country style pork ribs
  2. 1 small onion, diced
  3. 1 pint unsweetened applesauce (about 2 cups)
  4. 1 cup barbecue sauce (I used sweet baby rays)
  5. 2 teaspoons McCormick smokehouse maple seasoning
  6. 2 tablespoons oil
