Step:

  1. Combine all filling ingredients in a large bowl. Stir well.

  2. Place the dough in the middle of the shu mai skin and then shape it. Put a little grated carrot in the middle of shu mai and 1 pea.

  3. Steam for 20-30 minutes depending on the size of the shu mai.

  4. Serve warm with tomato sauce or chili sauce!

Ingredients

  1. 1 pack ready-to-use shu mai skin (round shape)
  2. For the fillings:
  3. 500 gr minced pork (or chicken)
  4. 200 gr shrimp, chopped
  5. 10 gr ear mushrooms, soak in hot water until soft and fluffy, finely chopped
  6. 4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  7. 2 stalks scallions, cut the white part only, finely chopped
  8. 1 Tbsp grated ginger
  9. 1 tsp sesame oil
  10. 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  11. 1 tsp salt or according to taste
  12. 1/2 tsp ground pepper or to taste
  13. 1 Tbsp cornstarch
  14. 2 egg whites
  15. For the garnish:
  16. 1 grated carrot
  17. some peas
