Step:

  1. Start with frying ground beef, onions and garlic in a large skillet on medium high heat. Stir until it is no longer pink. Drain fat from the pan. Leave in colander or bowl.

  2. Add onions and garlic to the skillet with a little bit of butter. Fry for 2-3 minutes until onions are translucent. I personally like the onions to be carmelized and then add the garlic and fry for a few minutes, so the garlic doesn't burn. Then add beef to back to the skillet, mixing the mixture.

  3. Stirin the tomato sauce, taco seasoning, water and pasta.

  4. Loosely cover the pan, reduce heat to a little under medium.

  5. Cook for 5-10 minutes until the pasta is done, stirring occasionally.

  6. Remove from heat and stir in cheese and optional fresh cilantro. I dont't like cilantro so I didnt add that.

  7. Optional*Bake it in the skillet with the cheese on top (10 min at 375F) for a delicious taco pasta bake. Enjoy.

  1. 3 Cups small shell pasta
  2. 1 pound ground beef, lean or extra lean
  3. 1/2 Cup Onions, diced
  4. 2 cloves garlic, minced
  5. 1/4 Cup taco seasoning
  6. 2 Cups water
  7. 1 Cup tomato sauce
  8. 1 Cup shredded cheese, cheddar or mozzarella
