Step:
Dry roast the ingredients in garam masala section for 2-3 minutes. Cool and grind to powder. You can sieve and store this masala or use as it is.
Soak tamarind in warm water. Take out the pulp and keep aside.
I have a sambar powder recipe in my collection. Can check that if you wish to prepare your own sambar powder.
Clean and wash rice and set aside. Wash and soak toor dal in a bowl separately.
Heat oil and ghee in a pressure cooker. Fry cashews and groundnut in it, strain and remove in a cup.
Add mustard seeds, curry leaves, carrot, green peas and fry for few minutes. Add garam masala powder, sambar powder. Immediately add rice and dal.
Add salt and tamarind pulp and cook for 3-4 minutes. Add water. Close the lid to pressure cooker and take 3-4 whistles.
Garnish with fried cashews and groundnuts.
