Step:
Soak chana dal for 1 hour in Lukewarm water. Drain out the water and cook the dal in a pressure cooker til 3-4 whistles and till the dal becomes mushy.
Once done grind in a mixer jar to remove lumps. Add in a kadhai or non stick pan.
Switch on flame and add jaggery powder
Also add the sugar. Mix and cook well until the jaggery has dissolved completely
When the mixture is thick. Add cardamom powder and mix well.
Check here for sweetness and add as required. Add some ghee and keep mixing, everything will come together, when done.
It will form a dough. Let the mixture cool completely
In the meantime prepare Poli dough by mixing and kneading all ingredients mentioned under the poli section. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
Make small ball of puran and keep ready
Pinch a big lemon sized dough and roll elongated thin roti. Keep one ball in centre.
Cover the puran ball with the poli. With the help of a small katori/ cup cut the poli dough, without touching the poli ball. Remove extra dough.
Tap with fingers and roll out circular roti evenly by mildly pressing it.
Roast in hot tawa from both sides. Add ghee and serve hot.

1/2 cup maida / all purpose flour
Pinch salt
2 teaspoon oil
Puran
1 cup chana dal / begal gram
1 cup jaggery powdered or grated
1/4 cup sugar (if required)
1 teaspoon cardamom powder
1 tablespoon ghee
