Step:
Wash and soak black grams overnight in plenty of water and soda.
Drain and spread on thick towel to remove excess water.
With a mortar and pestle or small grinding stone, flatten each chana, just ensure it doesn't break.
Now heat oil in frying pan, add a handful of the flattened chana and fry until golden in colour and almost crisp.
Drain them out and put on an absorbent paper to soak excess oil.
Repeat the steps for all the flattened gram.
Transfer the fried grams to a large plate and sprinkle salt, garam masala, chaat masala and toss gently to coat evenly.
Add a dash of lemon juice as per the taste. Toss and serve immediately along with green chillies.
My tip- Can also be served along with chopped onions, tomatoes and coriander leaves in the form of a bhel
