Step:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375˚F

  2. Lay chicken breasts flat in a casserole dish.  Season them with the garlic powder.

  3. Spread the cream cheese over the chicken evenly.

  4. Wash the jalapeño peppers and then cut the tops off.

  5. Remove the seeds and stems if you want it milder, or leave some if you want more spice.

  6. Cut the peppers into strips and lay them on top of the cream cheese.

  7. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese over top.

  8. Bake for 25-35 minutes.* (I'm still tweaking the original recipe so I'm not 100% on the baking time & temp. Make sure to use your thermometer to verify chicken is thoroughly cooked.)

  9. 5 minutes before cooking is complete, sprinkle with bacon then return to oven for the remaining cook time.

  10. Chicken is done when cooked through to an internal temperature of 165˚F.

  11. Serve warm with a side of potatoes, veggies, or a baked potato.

Ingredients

  1. 1 lb boneless, skinless, chicken breast tenderloins
  2. 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  3. 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  4. 1/4 pound jalapeño peppers (about 3-4 peppers)
  5. 4 oz sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  6. 1/2 cup crumbled crispy cooked bacon
