Step:

  1. To prepare the batter soak 2 cups of Rice and 1 cup of Urad dal in lukewarm water for 2 hours. Grind with salt you like and half tsp sugar and 2 tsp of sour curd. Ferment by keeping the batter covered under sunlight in winter.

  2. If you want to make instant Pithas then you can use Eno (according to the need of batter and cook immediately to get soft Idli.)

  3. Mix rest of the ingredients with the fermented batter.

  4. Grease the holes of Idli maker and pour the mixer batter. Cover with lid and steam for 7 to 9 minutes. Check with a toothprick to know if it is done.

  5. Switch off the flame and let it cool down for 5 minutes.

  6. Yummy yummy sweet idlis are ready to serve with Kheer or Rabri or can be eaten as such.

Ingredients

  1. 2 cups Fermented batter by taking Rice and Urad dal in 2:1 ratio
  2. 2 tbsp fresh grated Coconut or Powder
  3. 1 tbsp milk powder
  4. 2 tbsp date Palm Jaggery or similar available in market
  5. 1/2 tsp Cardamon powder (optional)
  6. 1 tbsp chopped nuts like Cashew, Almond, Kismis
  7. 4-5 Khajoor chopped
  8. 2 tsp ghee
