Step:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine brownie mix, water, vegetable oil, egg, and all purpose flour, stirring just until blended.

  3. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto a foil lined baking sheet.

  4. Bake 12 to 15 minutes, or until set when lightly pressed with your finger.

  5. Remove from pan and cool on a wire rack.

  6. For filling, combine egg whites, cream, vanilla, and 2 cups confectioners' sugar, beating until smooth.

  7. Add shortening and remaining sugar, beating until fluffy.

  8. Spread a generous amount of filling on the bottom of 1 cookie and place another cookie on top of the filling.

  9. Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container.

  6. 4 tbsp heavy cream

  8. 4 cup confectioners' sugar, divided
  9. 1 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
  10. 1 packages (19.8 ounces) fudge brownie mix
