Step:
Preheat oven to 350°.
Grease muffin tins.
Fill muffin tins 1/2 full.
Cream butter and sugar; add egg and mix well.
Add dry ingredients alternately with milk.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
Take out of muffin tins immediately.
Roll in or brush with melted butter.
Roll into cinnamon/sugar mixture.
* I get approximately 12 doughnuts out of the "regular" sized muffin tins that I have. However, the amount you get will obviously depend on the size of the muffin tins used, as well as how full you fill them. *
** Instead of nutmeg, you could also use lemon, rum, almond, vanilla, coconut, or several other flavorings or extracts. **
