Step:

  1. Beat the sugar together with the oil well.

  2. Add the rest of the ingredients, except the self-rising flour and beat until fluffy.

  3. Add the salt to the self-rising flour and then add it little by little to the rest of the ingredients, kneading to a soft dough that doesn't stick to your hands.

  4. Form your koulourakia to various shapes and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about half an hour.

  1. 1 cup apple or pear purée (just put the fruit in a food processor until you have a pulp) 
  2. 1 cup sugar
  3. 1 cup oil
  4. 4 tsp cinnamon
  5. 1/2 cup pistachios or walnuts
  6. 1 little salt
  7. 700 g self-rising flour
