Step:

  1. Whisk together sesame oil and soy sauce - set adide

  2. In a medium skillet, saut onion and sprouts in peanut oil for 3-5 minutes until onion starts to become translucent. Add garlic and ginger, cook for 30 seconds more. Transfer to a large bowl.

  3. Add pork, Chinese powder, and pepper to skillet. Cook until meat is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Transfer to the bowl.

  4. Add egg to the skillet and scramble, about 2 minutes. Add to bowl.

  5. Combine millet with the vegetables, pork, and egg, and add the peas. Drizzle with soy mixture and sesame seeds and toss to mix.

Ingredients

  1. 1 1/2 tsp sesame pil
  2. 2 tbsp reduced sodium soy sauce
  3. 1 cup chopped yellow onion
  4. 1 1/2 cups shredded Brussels sprouts (about 10-12)
  5. 1 tbsp peanut oil (olive oil works too, if allergies)
  6. 2 cloves garlic, chopoed
  7. 2 tsp chopped ginger (I'm guilty of using the paste)
  8. 8 oz lean ground pork
  9. 3/4 tsp Chinese Five Spice powder
  10. 1/4 tsp black pepper
  11. 1 egg plus 2 egg whites, lightly beaten
  12. 3/4 c millet, toasted and prepared with 2 1/4 c chicken broth
  13. (can substitute gluten free brown basmati for similar results)
  14. 1 c frozen peas, thawed
  15. 1 tbsp black sesame seeds (I use black & tan gomasio)
