Step:

  1. Press Saute; cook bacon in pot until crisp. Drain off all but 1 tablespoon drippings

  2. Add onion to pot; cook and stir 3 minutes or until softened. Add water and beans; cook and stir 1 minute, scraping up browned bits from bottom of pot. Stir in barbecue sauce and ketchup; mix well

  3. Secure lid and move pressure release valve to sealing or locked position. Cook at high pressure 50 minutes.

  4. When cooking is complete, use natural release for 15 minutes, then release remaining pressure. Stir beans; season with 1/2 teaspoon salt. If there is excess liquid in pot, press Saute and cook 3 to 5 minutes or until liquid is reduced, stirring frequently.

  3. 3 1/2 cups water
  4. 1 pound dried pinto beans, rinsed and sorted

  6. 1/4 cup ketchup
  7. 1/2 teaspoon salt
