Step:
Start by mixing the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt, sugar) in a bowl,
In another bowl whisk together the wet ingredients (egg, milk and melted butter and flavour)
Then combine the wet and dry ingredients mixing properly but not for too long, whisk until just moistened (do not overmix) and leave for few minutes
While waiting, Heat up a little butter (or a tablespoon of oil) in a frying pan on medium heat, pour some of the pancake batter (1 used the 1/4 cup measurement)
Allow to cook for 2 minutes till bubbles form on top, flip to the other side and cook for another 2 minutes.
Remove in a plate and repeat this process with more butter/oil and remaining batter till all the batter is exhausted. (this gives about 12 pancakes.)
Serve warm, with desired toppings such as butter, maple syrup, confectioners' sugar, honey, jams, preserves, sweetened whipped cream, or chocolate syrup
