Step:

  1. Preheat oven to 350.

  2. Cook and drain pasta al dente according to package instructions.

  3. In 1 1/2 quart saucepan, melt 2 tbsp butter over low heat. Stir in flour and salt. Cool over medium heat, stirring constantly, until smooth and bubbly; remove from heat. Stir in milk. Heating to boil, stirring constantly. Boil and stir one minute. Stir in cheese until melted.

  4. Stir in pasta, vegetables and drained canned fish; mix well. Spoon into ungreased 2-quart casserole. Cover and bake about 25 minutes or until hot and bubbly.

  5. In small bowl mix bread crumbs and 1 tbsp melted butter. Sprinkle over casserole. Bake uncovered about 5 minutes longer or until topping is toasted.

  1. 1 1/4 cup uncooked medium pasta
  2. 2 tbsp all purpose flour
  3. 3/4 tsp salt
  4. 2 cups milk
  5. 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Swiss)
  6. 2 cups chopped fresh vegetables (broccoli or mushrooms)
  7. 2 cans (12 oz) total) tuna or salmon in water drained
  8. 2/3 dry bread crumbs
  9. 3 tbsp butter or margarine, divided
