Step:

  1. Preheat oven to 475F, and line a baking sheet with parchment

  2. Cut butter into small cubes, and put in freezer until ready to use it

  3. Combine the dry ingredients

  4. Use a pastry blender to cut the COLD butter into the dry ingredients until the pieces are no bigger than a pea

  5. Stir in buttermilk until a shaggy dough forms

  6. GENTLY knead the dough by hand to gather into a ball, and collect whatever possible dry ingredients are left I the bowl.

  7. Dust your work surface with flour, and flatten dough to about a 1" thickness

  8. Use a biscuit cutter to cut the dough into rounds

  9. Place rounds onto your prepared baking sheet with sides barely touching each other

  10. Make a tiny indentation on the tops of the rounds with your knuckles, and brush the tops with melted butter

  11. Bake until golden (approximately 8-12 minutes)

  1. 2 Cups all-purpose flour
  2. 1 Tablespoon baking powder
  3. 1 Teaspoon kosher salt
  4. 1/2 Cup COLD unsalted butter
