Step:

  1. Make a smooth dough out of all the ingredients mentioned except the last one. Keep it covered for about 15 minutes in the refrigerator. Shape into small golf sized balls out of it and arrange on a baking tray lined with butter paper.

  2. Bake on 180 for 25 minutes or little less than that in a preheated fan assisted oven on the medium rack. Let them come to the room temperature once they are done on their own. Enjoy with your loved ones and friends at tea-time or Shaam ki chai.

  3. For these baked Besan Nan Khatai, I have used Semolina too for extra crisp and perfect Indian Shortbread Cookies. Do not use milk. If at all required, use as little as possible. In these biscuits, use of Ghee or shortening is in generous amounts, hence they are rich and the presence of Dry fruits and nuts make them even more. These can be stored for as long as a month in airtight containers in the refrigerator if the climate is hot and humid, otherwise they can be kept outside. Happy Baking!

  1. 2 cup Gram Flour or Besan
  2. 1/4 cup Semolina
  3. 3/4 cup Sugar
  4. 1/2 cup Ghee

  6. 1/4 cup Slivered Almonds and pistachios each
