Step:
Clean, wash and soak both the dals in lukewarm water for 30 minutes. Boil in required amount of water, turmeric powder and 1/2 tsp cooking oil for 1 whistle. Let the cooker naturally cool down.
Heat oil+ ghee in a wok. Add dry chilli and panch pbutan and allowed to splutter. Then mix chopped onion and fry till translucent.
Then add ginger and garlic paste, chopped tomatoes and rest other dry masala and salt. Put 2 tsp water, cover and cook in low flame till the oil separate from masala.
Mix well the cooked masala with boiled dal and let it simmer for 2 minutes.
Now the hot dal is ready to serve. Thanks Note: Cook the masala in low heat. This enhance the taste and aroma of the dal/curry.

1/2 cup split yellow Moong dal
1 medium Onion chopped
1/3 cup choppedTomatoes
1 green chilli finely chopped
1 1/2 tsp Ginger-Garlic paste
1 dry red chilli
1 tsp Cumin powder
1 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
1 pinch Hing (asafoetida)powder
1/2 tsp Amchur(dry mango) powder
as needed Panch phutan
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
as needed Oil
to taste Salt
