Job Purpose

As a clinical psychologist, your primary role is to provide emotional support and mental health services to cancer patients and their families. You help them navigate the psychological challenges of diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship, fostering resilience and well-being throughout their cancer journey.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Provide psychological therapies to adults, elderly patients, and caregivers through face-to-face sessions, virtual consultations, and home visits. Work with family members and conduct family sessions.
• Formulate individualized therapy plans and provide case management.
• Maintain proper case records and progress records in the patient database system.
• Design and conduct training, workshops, and group sessions for the patients, caregivers, and community organizations face-to-face or virtually.
• Travel interstate to provide psychological services and/or home visits in different NCSM branch offices across Peninsular Malaysia.
• Set up and develop NCSM’s psychosocial support services in different NCSM branch offices across Peninsular Malaysia.
• Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary psychosocial team of healthcare professionals comprising counsellors, dietitians and play therapists.

Requirements:

• Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology
• Membership with MSCP or MAHPC(CP)
• Good team player as well as the ability to work independently
• Proficient oral and written communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia
• Proficiency in Mandarin and/or Tamil will be an additional advantage
