Step:

  2. Once cooked the dal will look like this.

  3. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, chopped green chillies, curry leaves and garlic and saute.

  4. Next add the onions and cook till translucent. Add all spices and salt and mix.

  5. Pour daal and mix. Adjust seasoning

  6. Garnish with coriander leaves and a teaspoon of ghee.

  7. Tangy and spicy thick parpu is ready to be served with chapati or steamed rice.

Ingredients

  1. 1/4 cup toor dal/ split yellow lentil
  2. 1/4 cup masoor dal/ split brown lentil
  3. 1 totapuri/ kili-mooku mango
  4. 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  5. 2 onions chopped finely
  6. 2-3 garlic cloves finely
  7. 3-4 curry leaves
  8. 2-3 green chillies chopped
  9. 2 tablespoons oil
  10. 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  11. Pinch hing
  12. 1/4 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  13. 1/4 teaspoon Coriander powder
  14. 1/4 teaspoon Cumin powder
  15. 1/4 teaspoon garam masala
  16. As per taste Salt
  17. 2-3 teaspoons chopped coriander leaves
  18. 1 teaspoon ghee
