Step:

  1. Add milk, salt and 3/4 th cups of water to a non stick pan and bring to a boil

  2. Once on a roaring boil, reduce heat and add the ghee and mix

  3. Add the rice flour next and mix on Low heat continuesly as the mix comes together to form a lump

  4. Take off heat and place the flour mix on a plate to cook a bit

  5. Add 2 teaspoons of ghee to the mix once cool and knead slightly

  6. Now grease your palms and create small balls out of the mixture and place them in a bowl

  7. Melt the jaggery using 1/4 th cup water and strain the water into a non stick pan to remove any impurities

  8. Add 3/4th cups of water now and bring to a boil

  9. Once boiling reduce heat and add the rice balls prepared and mix gently

  10. Now cover and let simmer for 4-5 minutes

  11. Once done, add the coconut milk and cardamom powder

  12. Mix gently and cook covered for 2-3 minutes on Low heat

  13. Once the mixture has thickened to your desired consistency, take off heat and transfer into a serving bowl

  14. Serve as a Diwali Prasad to the lord and enjoy the kozhukattai warm or cold with your family

  1. 1/4 th cup Plain milk
  2. 3/4 th cup + 1/4 th cup Water
  3. 1 pinch salt
  4. 1/2 cup Rice flour
  5. 1 teaspoon Ghee+ 2 teaspoons
  6. 1/2 cup Jaggery
  7. 1/4 tsp Fine cardamom powder
  8. 1 cup Thin coconut milk
