Step:

  1. Preheat oven to 450F.

  2. Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl with a whisk.

  3. Place the mixture in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or 15 minutes in the freezer.

  4. Add the stick of butter (about 8 tbl) a few slices at a time. Use you hands to work the butter into the mix by pressing the butter flat and letting it break into smaller pieces.

  5. Toss the mixture with your hands to uniformly mix butter.

  6. Add the buttermilk and mix with a fork until consistency is thick and there is no more dry flour spots. You may need to add some buttermilk if needed.

  7. Since you are making these biscuits for the dressing, there is no need to roll out the dough and cut into shapes. Simply spoon out the batter onto a greased cookie sheet. We call these "drop" biscuits.

  8. Bake for about 12 minutes or until the outside of the biscuits are golden brown.

  5. 1/4 tsp salt
  6. 2 cup buttermilk
