Step:

  1. For the cake:

  2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. Add eggs and brandy, beat until smooth and uniform.

  4. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt. Add alternately with the milk to the creamed mixture.

  5. Pour batter into 2 greased and floured (with cocoa) into 2 8" cake pans.

  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.

  7. Cool. Frost with the icing in your fridge.

  8. For the frosting/icing:

  9. Mix all ingredients together except for the brandy in a medium pan and heat over high heat.

  10. Stir constantly until the mixture begins to boil.

  11. After 2 minutes of boiling and stirring constantly, remove from heat.

  12. After the mixture cools for a few minutes, add the brandy.

  13. Allow the mixture to cool thoroughly and then place into the refrigerator for several hours.

  6. 1/8 tsp salt
  7. 2 tsp blackberry brandy

  9. 3/4 unsalted butter (melted)
  10. 1 3/4 cup sugar
  11. 2 eggs
  12. 1 tsp blackberry brandy
  13. 2 cups flour
  14. 3/4 cup Cocoa
  15. 1 1/4 tsp baking soda
  16. 1/2 tsp salt
  17. 1 1/3 cup milk
