Step:
Mix the sugar into the warm water until dissolved. Add the yeast and olive oil to the mixture and stir. Set aside until foamy.
In a large bowl, add the flour and salt. Herbs such as oregano and basil can be added. Stir to combine.
Add the yeast mixture to the flour and combine with your hand until dough forms and it's no longer sticky.
Knead the dough on a floured surface until springy and smooth.
Place the dough back in the large bowl, cover and set aside to rise for about an hour.
Once it has doubled in size, knock back the dough.
Using half the dough, form a pizza crust as thin or thick as preferred. The other half can be used for anther pizza or a pepperoni roll or put in the refrigerator for later use.
Top your pizza with desired sauce and toppings. Or for a pepperoni roll: Put pepperoni and cheese on top of the pizza dough. Roll and seal the seams. Brush the top with a beaten egg.
Bake at 200°C for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
