Step:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. Use electric mixer to beat butter until soft.

  3. Gradually add sugar and continue beating until light and fluffy.

  4. Add eggs and beat well.

  5. Add flour 1 cup at a time.

  6. Stir in cream and vanilla.

  7. Spread some butter and flour on a 9 x 4 1/2" loaf pan.

  8. Transfer the batter to the loaf pan and bake until golden brown.

  9. * This cookbook was dedicated to the memory of John Ayers, former San Francisco 49er who was taken away from his family and friends too soon. Proceeds were given to the American Cancer Society in his memory.

  1. 2 cup unsalted butter
  2. 3 cup cake flour
  3. 1 cup milk or heavy cream
  4. 8 large eggs
  5. 2 tbsp vanilla extract (I always use a bit more)
  6. 3 1/2 cup white sugar
