Step:

  1. Preheat the oven to 235°C. Place a small deep baking tray with water on the bottom rack (you want steam in the oven while the koulouria are baking). 

  2. Mix the flour, the salt, the sugar, the yeast, the tahini and the margarine in a large bowl. 

  3. Move the dough on a counter and knead for 10-15 minutes (the dough should be a little firm). Divide the dough into 18 equal parts. 

  4. Place plenty of water in one bowl and plenty of sesame seeds in another.

  5. Form strings with the dough pieces of 20-25 cm each and close them into rings.

  6. Dip them first in the water and then the sesame seeds. 

  7. Place them in a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper and set them aside for 20 minutes at a hot place to rise. 

  8. Bake the kouloura in the preheated oven that has the tray with the water for 18-20 minutes at 235°C.

  1. 1 kg Robin Hood flour 
  2. 500 ml tepid water 
  3. 30 g salt 
  4. 50 g sugar 
  5. 2 packets dry yeast 
  6. 100 g melted margarine 
  7. 1 tbsp tahini
  8. 300 g sesame seeds
