Step:

  1. Cream together shortening and sugar

  2. Add the egg and beat well

  3. Sift dry ingredients together

  4. Add alternately with milk

  5. Add the vanilla

  6. Place in greased pan

  7. Add 1/4 teaspoons lemon extract to fruit

  8. Pour over top of batter.

  9. Blend all topping ingredients sprinkle over top

  10. Bake at 375 for 30 minutes

  2. 4 tablespoons sugar
  3. 3 teaspoons baking powder
  4. 1/4 teaspoons salt
  5. 1/2 cup milk
  6. 1 teaspoons vanilla
  7. 1 cup sweetened apricots,peaches or applesauce
  8. 1 egg
  9. Topping
  10. 1 tablespoons butter melted over water
  11. 1/4 cup flour
  12. 1/2 cup sugar
  13. 2 tablespoons cinnamon
  14. 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
