Step:

  1. Combine all the ingredients (except for the cornstarch) into a mason jar (or different container with an airtight lid). Give the jar a shake to combine everything. Label the outside of the jar with the name of the seasoning and the date you made it.

  2. That's it! Keep it stored with your other spices and enjoy in your taco recipes.

  3. Use 2 tbsp. per pound of ground meat (this is equivalent to a 1 oz. packet of store bought seasoning) and 1/4 - 1/2 cup water. Stir in 1 tbsp. of cornstarch into the water before adding it. Mix it into the meat and let it simmer for 5-10 minutes. You can also use this seasoning for other taco related recipes or whatever else you typically use the seasoning packets for.

Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cup chili powder
  2. 1/4 cup ground cumin
  3. 1 tbsp. paprika
  4. 1 tbsp. smoked paprika
  5. 2 tsp. garlic powder
  6. 2 tsp. onion powder
  7. 1 tsp. dried oregano
  8. 1 tsp. cayenne pepper (or less for less heat)
  9. 1 tsp. coarse salt
  10. 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  11. 1 tbsp. cornstarch per lb. of meat - separate from the rest
