Step:

  1. Place the ground meat in a large deep skillet. Add enough water to cover the meat. Bring to a boil, uncovered. Stir continuous to break down the meat into small pieces. Reduce heat and simmer.

  2. In a small bowl, combine the chili powder, paprika, cumin, salt, black pepper, onion powder, garlic flakes, onion flakes, red pepper (start with a small amount), and garlic salt. Stir into the meat after it starts simmering.

  3. Cook the meat for 1 1/2 hours on a low simmer,uncovered. Stir frequently.

  4. In a medium bowl, combine the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar. Stir into the meat and continue to simmer for 30 more minutes stirring frequently. Taste to see if needing more salt or red pepper.

  5. Remove from heat and spoon off any grease possible.


Ingredients

  1. 2 lbs ground beef (ground venison can be used)
  2. 2-3 cups water, just enough to cover meat when cooking
  3. 2 tsp chili powder
  4. 2 tsp paprika
  5. 2 tsp cumin
  6. 2 tsp kosher salt
  7. 2 tsp coarse black powder
  8. 2 tsp onion powder
  9. 2 tsp dried garlic flakes
  10. 2 tsp dried onion flakes
  11. 1/4-1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  12. 1 tsp garlic salt
  13. 1 cup ketchup
  14. 4 TBS Worcestershire sauce
  15. 1 cup brown sugar
