Step:

  1. Wash and peel vegetables. Cut in pieces.

  2. Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds and when cumin seeds splutter put finely chopped ginger and garlic. Sauté for 1 minute. Add chopped onion and tomato and sauté till oil leaves.

  3. Add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and garam masala and mix well.

  4. Now add cut pieces of turnip and mix thoroughly. Stir very well. Now add 2 tb spoon water and place the lid. Pressure cook till three whistles. Switch off the flame and let pressure releases automatically.

  5. Open the lid. Mash it with the help of spetula. Add 1 tsp sugar and 1 tb spoon water. And cook it on low flame for 5 minutes or till water gets dry. Sugar is add to remove it's bitterness.

  6. Transfer it in a serving bowl and garnish with coriander leaves and serve with parantha or puri.

  1. 500 gm turnip
  2. 1 onion
  3. 1 tomato
  4. 6 garlic pods
  5. 1 inch ginger
  6. 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  7. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  8. To taste salt
  9. To taste red chilli powder
  10. 1/2 tsp garam masala
  11. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  12. 2 tbsp cooking oil
  13. 2-4 tbsp water
  14. 1/2 tsp sugar
